Test Engineer - Glasgow

At Deepmatter, product and system testers perform a crucial role. Our testers will help us to ensure that our software and hardware artefacts are released to our customers with zero defects.
You should have 1 to 2 years of full-time, commercial test experience.
We are a close-knit company, and cross-departmental collaboration is common, meaning you will build a knowledge of the wider business and associated technologies. We are an open-minded team, where your input and ideas are not only welcome but expected and encouraged.
Develop test cases and prioritize testing activities;
Perform critical review of product requirements and software designs for testability;
Communicate all test results to colleagues that require information;
Identify tests to improve product requirements and software designs;
Collaborating with development and non-development staff to continually improve tests;
Manual testing of the system;
Create and manage automated testing;
Report on test progress and the suitability of a release;
Execute all the test cases and report defects, define severity, and priority for each defect;
Carry out regression testing every time when changes are made to the code to fix defects;
Be dependable and generous with your time helping the team meet their goals;
Work with testing colleagues to produce the test strategy; and
Follow and maintain the development and test process as defined by the Development Manager.
Key Skills & Experience (required)
Experience of designing, implementing and maintaining automated tests;
Experience performing regression testing;
Experience of ensuring test outcome reports are communicated and resolved by the dev team;
Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Raspberry Pi an advantage, but not essential;
Has a ‘can-do’ attitude and is happy working in a start-up, ‘get stuck in’ environment; and
Good communication skills and ability to work with other teams to achieve tangible outcomes.
