Keeping Your Chemistry Safe with DigitalGlassware®

Chemical safety is paramount when you are working in a chemistry lab, not only for when you handle chemicals but to ensure any potential hazards and risks are identified and understood ahead of time.

Therefore it’s important that you have access to the most recent and up-to-date chemical safety information  to make your safety assessments.

With DigitalGlassware® we have introduced several tools to help you collect this information and ensure you are able to:

  • RECEIVE THE MOST UP-TO-DATE SAFETY INFORMATION

  • ACCESS AND SHARE THIS INFORMATION EITHER FOR YOUR OWN RECORDS OR WITH COLLEAGUES

Read on to find out more about how DigitalGlassware® is helping you and your colleagues be safer in the lab.

As standard DigitalGlassware® Recipes contain a customisable chemical safety section that allows you to search and select from a database of hazard and precaution (H- and P- respectively) codes. However to ensure you receive high quality and relevant chemical safety information, we have introduced an Auto-Safety Information tool which utilises safety information available from PubChem chemical records (which in turn follow the Global Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) system) for identified chemicals in your Recipe. The whole process can be done quickly in your browser, producing complete chemical safety information for your reaction with a simple click of a button. Once you are satisfied this safety information can be exported from DigitalGlassware® as a PDF or a CSV file, allowing you to use it within the safety framework of your laboratory. Additionally this safety information is available with you at every step of your DigitalGlassware® Recipe run using our RecipeRunner tablet app as standard.

With DigitalGlassware® we understand we have an opportunity to provide not only a unique data collection platform but a useful tool that will make a chemists job easier and safer in the lab.
